Tank vs. Roach: Date, Start Time, How To Watch, Fight Card, Live Stream

One of boxing's marquee attractions is finally stepping back inside the squared circle.

Gervonta "Tank" Davis (30-0, 28 KOs) makes his 2025 debut this Saturday when he puts his WBA Lightweight Title on the line against childhood rival and WBA junior lightweight titlist Lamont Roach (25-1-1, 10 KOs) from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.

Davis returns for the first time since his lone outing in 2024, an eighth-round knockout over Frank Martin in June. Then for reasons unknown, Davis took the remainder of the year off. That was odd considering that the Martin was his first fight in 14 months, a seventh-round KO of Ryan Garcia. In between the Garcia and Martin fights, Davis served 44 days in jail for violating his house arrest agreement. 

Martin steps back into the ring for the first time since June, an eighth-round stoppage win over Feargal McCrory. In his previous fight, Martin won the WBA belt via split decision over former Davis foe, Héctor Luis García. 

The buildup to Saturday's clash has seen a calmer, gentle Davis. He's talked more about wanting to go to therapy, fatherhood, and retirement.

Boxing pundits believe this will be another cakewalk for Davis against below quality opposition. While Davis attempted to make a fight last fall against Vasiliy Lomachenko, Davis still decided to go this route instead of pursuing a bout with Shakur Stevenson or a highly lucrative rematch against Garcia.

Roach isn't buying any of the talk that he can't win despite being a 9 to 1 underdog and lost twice to Davis in the amateurs. 

Can Roach pull off the massive upset? Only time will tell.
